Poetry: Romance

by Daniel Owen

Created on: January 18, 2008

Timeless

Ribbons and curls, ladies preparing
Dresses unfurled, gents left to staring
Timeless these treasures, left to good measure
Patiently wait for us nigh

Curtseys and bows, low and endearing
Cards filled for all, dancing and hearing
Strings with their sound, flowing around
Greatly lift spirits high

Simple connection, nearing perfection
Beauties a spinning, mums left a grinning
Nights such as these, with fathers at ease
He lets a contented sigh
