I wake up with thoughts of you
Wishing you were here,
Time to me is standing still
But days drag into years,
It seems like only yesterday
When together we were one,
Yet one becomes two worlds apart
Where everything has gone.
The changing of the seasons
Brings memories of you,
Forever raining in my heart
The warmth that I once knew,
Has evaporated along with love
With honesty and trust,
All those golden promises
Are left here now to rust.
They say life is for living
Yet I'm struggling to survive,
From a mind that's always thinking
And tears within my eyes,
They say when one door closes
Another opens to walk through,
Yet all I want is to break down the door
That closed on me and you.
