want to crop that out and then tweak the lighting of the photo. Remember, your customers cannot "touch" the item or see it up close and personal. So, your pictures have to be the best they can be. Descriptions should not be one liners. Give a full description of the item. Stuck for ideas on this? Look at your own product as a shopper would. Ask yourself the questions someone would if they were considering buying it on-line. Then go ye forth and give it a good description. This also helps with the search engines ~ your title and description should contain enough relevant keywords about the item. Blog about the item after-wards and you'll see the search engines picking it up quickly.
Do you get testimonials from your customers, or emails from them telling you how much they liked the item? Put this on a testimonials page. This encourages consumer confidence. Be prompt with shipping your orders out. Again, people don't like to feel "forgotten". Have a clear and concise policies page. All of this encourages consumer confidence.
Having a successful website takes a great deal of hard work, planning, tweaking and viewing it in a neutral light to achieve top results. View your website not as the person who is most familiar with it, but as a casual shopper who happened upon it in their quest for a particular item. Viewing it from a dispassionate stance can help you see many flaws that will help you improve vastly. Your website will always be evolving. Don't think that once you are done with it, that's it, you're done! You'll always be tweaking and improving, however, that's the fun of it. It's a labor of love that hopefully pays the bills.
