suggestions this is due to the different buildings in your local area. Now, you will need to think of a good secure location that will have any or most of these characteristics (in order of importance)
1) two or more entrance and exits useful for defending a limited amount of areas, as well as quickly escaping through one. Do not, I repeat do not pick a area that only has one entrance/exit for safety and blood reasons. Should there be a breakthrough, all you can do is try and push your way throught he now horde covered bottle neck way.
2) Elevation areas this will be a most useful factor in your defence. As it is still unknown and probably very unlikely that the undead can climb ladders but can do escalators and stairs. Therefore, try to pick a safe area that can be accessed by a ladder or a fire escape. Also, if unable to find a ladder accessible area, then try to find the highest elevation in a building. This will bring you a vantage point in being able to see what happens below as well as give you time in your escape (or suicide if neccassary)
3) Storage? should a building contain lots of equipment/food/weapons if possible then this will be ideal as you already have a large arsenal of survival equipment or extra food to help last through the neccassary duration of the apocalyse.
4) Isolation if you really really want, then why don't you try and live off the ocean. Live in a boat house, a oil rig, a boat, a cruise liner, a small island where the undead cannot get to youHowever you must consider transportation and the food/water factor and how you will be able to obtain this.

Secondly, if possible try and use a welding tool to weld any door sealed tight. Thirdly, block the door with very heavy large objects such as dumpster bins/bookcases/tables etc. In terms of defence, try the medieval method of sharpening poles and stakes and placing them on the outside of your door, or nailed onto your door. Makesure to use as many stakes/poles as possible to inflict maximum damage and to increase the defence of your entryway. Also,
