How can there be a wrong time to bring a tiny little bundle of new life into the world? Babies are so cute, they are gorgeous. People love babies. The thing is, as mentioned in the question, babies are a life. They are for life. They are not just there to look cute when you want to show them off. They are not just there for a cuddle. They are a full time responsibility and the reality is, they are hard work and expensive.

Young lovers can be tempted to have a baby. Whilst there is nothing wrong with having a baby young, if the time is right, it isn`t always. It can seem like a really romantic thing to do. The relationship is perfect, you can`t get enough of each other. A baby would just make things complete! This may not be the right time as a baby could get in the way if you are besotted with each other. One partner may become jealous. Also, the rose tinted spectacles will fade when you have been together longer. You may be ther perfect couple, a match made in heaven. You may not be though, so give your selves time to get to know each other first. Don`t decide to have a baby until your relationship is established and you know that you are going to get on. A baby needs to enter the world in a loving, stable relationship.

Likewise, don`t decide to have a baby if your marriage is heading for divorce. It will not pull you together. A lot of couples think that if they are not getting on, a baby is what they need. They are under the misconception that it will help them to get along again. The baby would be wanted by both and they would love the baby. Instead of providing a solution to the problem, a baby could actually produce more stress.

If a relationship is already under strain, sleepless nights will not help. It could even cause more arguments over who changes nappies and who gets up in the night. A baby can be a novelty at first. The reality is, a baby needs 24 hour care, seven days a week. If the couple are not getting on, a baby may well create resentment. A baby is not a sticking plaster to heal a damaged relationship.

Both potential parents must be in agreement to plan a new baby. If one partner wants a child and the other one doesn`t, it may cause problems. They must have a discussion and see if they can reach an agreement. It may result in a very painful decision. One partner could wait and hope that the other one will eventually want a child. They could stay together because they love each other and would rather be together than apart, even without a baby.
