It was at work, a friend of mine was talking to another person about the recent videos she had picked up and watched. Well you know I was curious so I asked her what they were and suprisingly they were all horror movies. Seeing this friend, I couldn't seem to put the picture of her watching those types of movies and actually sitting in a chair munching away at some popcorn. My eyes were wide and fixed trying to see if this woman was actually pulling a fast one on me because I really didn't want to be joked with at that moment, the temperature in the warehouse was unbearable and the water guy who furnished drinks, was out so I really wasn't in the joking mood, but ironically she wasn't joking; so that kind of caught me off guard.She was definitely not the horror viewer type, in my eyes, but I on the other hand, was and still is into horror movies I had a collection close to two hundred movies, all in the genre.

The horror industry is what I affiliate closeness with. I enjoy being scared. Well she told me about this movie called The Changeling, starring George C. Scott. I saw this movie when I was a kid, and I went "Oh man, I saw that movie," I told her. Strangely at that time it didn't scare me much... then, however, this time at an older age, wiser now than I was a child, I can tell you people what you knew as a kid may not have a hold on you but what's happening now sure can have a grasp on you.

And it was the way she presented the movie to me that really rocked it off. "I'll let you watch it. Are you sure you want to see this?

I went "yeah, yeah, yeah..." like an innocent puppy, so naive to the world.

Are you sure you want to watch it alone? It was the way she looked at me, that really made me hungry for this movie.I have got to see this movie again I thought. Telling myself, "If I could watch The Exorcist by myself, I can surely watch the Changeling as well". Come on, I didn't have it in my collection and it's been some time since I saw it," give me, give me, give me, " I said.

"Alright, she said. Don't say I didn't warn you." She gave me a devilish glare and I took the tape home plopped it in my VCR...

People, don't let anyone tell you to look at a movie and take it home and watch it by yourself. The Changeling have changed me.
