What is the responsibility of American companies and consumers for unsafe working conditions in Chinese factories?

Title endorsed in part by:

who find themselves missing fingers, hands and arms can no longer function as they did. Not only can they not work in these unsafe and health hazard work places, but also cannot provide any use, in any type of work due to their disability.

Workers spraying varnish and paint onto car parts and furniture, without any use of masks and ventilation equipment. Visit any car repairer or panel beater in the United States and you will find all have ventilated spray booths and safety equipment when working with dangerous paints and solvents.

Not only do the above accidents occur every day in China, but long lasting effects and diseases are becoming more debilitation to the population. Workers are suffering, not just in the work place but are slowly dying of cancers and other diseases caused by exposure to dangerous chemicals.

We need to consider the families of these people too, are those workers who have lead poisoning passing lead through mothers milk to their children? Consider what the damage to this amazing civilization could be in another couple of centuries, especially if these unsafe work conditions continue.

With everyone against them, including those employed to protect the citizens of China, whom can these workers turn to? They're not advised of unsafe working conditions, many are not even aware until they begin to have adverse effects or lose a limb. They're only trying to support themselves and their family.

WHAT IS AMERICAN BUSINESS DOING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM?

Unfortunately, many big businesses still continue to ignore what is occurring in China in the manufacturing of their products. The eventual profit margin proving to be of higher importance than the conditions in which they are made.

When something goes wrong, such as the recent problem with "Bindeez" toys for children, whom do we blame? We blame China and it's workers. Nothing is mentioned about the company who is paying to have these products imported then sold for profit, but most importantly nothing is mentioned about the workers who are
