27th Dec, 2007 was quite a festive day in Rawalpindi with a mourning evening and night; and days of immense violence and protest to follow.I am citizen of Pakistan, i saw people weeping, i saw tyres burning...i endured this tragic incident and its after effects...Season of elections was in full swing in Pakistan. Both biggest leaders of Pakistan were in Rawalpindi, Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Shareef. One was in Liaquat Bagh holding a grand ceremony and other was in rally. Around 5 pm my mom and sister were offering their prayers that they heard a blast(my house is not far from Liaquat Bagh). I work as engineer in one of the Telecom provider in Islamabad. My mom asked my sister to call me and ask if i m fine. Unaware of every incident I was on my way back home in office bus which changed its route because Murree Road( name of one of the main road in Rawalpindi) was blocked, moreover i even saw rally of Nawaz Sharif; i told mom that i am fine. I was dropped quite far from my usual bus stop. Heading towards my home i saw and quite tensed and stressed enviornment. In home i just switched on the television and what i saw ... Really i was not able to believe the breaking news coming on every channel. My mom was never a supporter of PPP but she too was in tears. Only question who did this all ... who did this... First thought our President Pervez Musharraf..Second thought PML (Q) Leaders...Third thought ....there was no third thought ...Al Qaeda's name didnt came to any pakistani's mind...It was a big political game and whoever played it is still unknown. Terror siezed everybody's heart in Pakistan..No doubt Benazir was the most popular leader at present and about 70% people of Pakistan were sure that PPP will gain power this time and she was gone. Now its not who tried to kill Benazir ; it who killed Benazir. Such brutal act moved the hearts of every Pakistani. Like we never came to know who killed Liaqut Ali Khan, Murtaza Bhutto, Gen Zia ul Haq...i think we ll never come to know who did this.. To alleviate the pressure the blame will go to terrorist or Al Qaeda. She was former Prime Minister who according to govt was given full security. But what about us..we are citizens without security ..Our Govt created a mess in front of International Media by giving false statements which made people more doubtful about Govt. Who is responsible ? May be it was everyone ..It was every Pakistani who was responsible for every life taken in Pakistan due to bombings.. When we will start being true citizens of Pakistan we wont have bomb blasts like a casual thing..Insh ALLAH we ll have peaceful progressing Pakistan one day.
