Chance to Wait
To speak the words already heard
"Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved"
But truer words than these now heard
"Better to have never loved than to have partaken and never loved"
Has happened with many and much of late
Their wedding bonds with heart pain great
Love whose season passed them by
And sin it grants another try.
Yet the book was written before soul's birth
And souls mate once their stay on earth
It requires of one whose Master's care
Prepares their heart for one to share
Their hearts beat wild with passion's eyes
Midst love that's shared with hungry cries
This must not need much work to learn
For souls whose birth in fire burn
Longevity stands to offer plause
For those who've never needed cause
Their record stands for those to see
Where love's path lies and bids them flee
Are foreign thoughts these written words
A muse to some who think they've heard
But desperate yet they meager be
For love's great wealth they cannot see
Wait it says, the Book of Truth
Tis not passed yet the days of youth
But if time leaps no reward to bear
Feel not betrayed the Savior's care
A chance to wait, a chance to die
To all desires where they may lie
The chance has fled some hasty hearts
Whose loves in waiting did depart
