Cheap car-rental tips

P.T. Barnum once said, "There's a sucker born every minute," and in the car rental industry, that statement is unfortunately true. Let's face it: Not everyone is a car specialist. Life comes at us pretty fast in the 21st century, so what is a person to do when his or her car poops out, or he or she needs a better car while taking the family to see Mickey Mouse? Well, you don't want to be some rental company's lollipop that's for sure. Below are some facts to help the everyman or woman find the cheapest cars around.

I. The Basics

A. Background: This should be a no brain-er here; visit online sites about the cheapest rental company. Ask friends and family members if they'd used the rental company, and what their experiences.

B. Location: Chose a rental company that's relatively local to your living area. It's better to know where you are going than to waste gas and time when you don't, agreed?

C. Requirements and Restrictions: Ask the meaty questions, such as "Does this company have a minimum age limit for renting cars?" "Can a person add additional drivers?" "And do they need to be listed on the agreement?"

II. Everyday Issues

A. Insurance: Always verify with your instance company what is or is not covered by the rental company. Check the deductible just in case.

B. Coming Prepared: Have your credit card, driver's license, and confirmation number when your arrive. Ask a staff member for the company's contact info if the car blows up or something. Furthermore, make sure the vehicle has a current owner's manual, check common things, such as odometer, mileage, fluid levels, and tire pressure.

C. Discounts/Penalties: know the rules! Don't be changed extra for late returns, or bringing the car back with no gas. That's not cool! The cool stuff is special discounts. Is it cheaper to rent during a weekday or weekend? How about off-seasons ect

III. Selecting A Ride

A. The classes: Ask yourself if a compact size vehicle would work better than a SUV? Make sure you give yourself enough trunk space for your wife's gifts and souvenirs (Cough, Cough). Check to see if each class has special features like AC, automatic transmission, air bags etc

B. Accommodations: If you don't see a car that fits your family's needs, just ask if you can get that rental with a working AC or a manual transmission.

C. Reservations: This is a no brain-er too, but life gets in our way and causes us to forget. Always make reservations as soon as you can. You don't want to be that sucker out in the rain.

Finally, just relax and have fun. After all, driving off in your new rental car can improve your life if you didn't drive off as that sucker. Check various websites like http://www. CheapRentACar.com for future details and deals.
