Leave the World Behind
(Dedicated to my Angel, the best thing that has ever happened to me.)
The sun has set hours ago
but still you lay wide awake.
Another day has come
and it refuses to go away.
Drowning in your troubles,
you feel as if you are all alone.
I'm lying here wide awake.
I can feel as you toss and turn.
If only you would reach out to me
and take refuge in my arms.
Through it all
For better or for worst,
I will hold you through the night.
I long to help bring you peace.
To help you leave the world behind.
