San Diego, CA: Hidden attractions

Hidden treasures are rare and yet very precious. These are to be explored and searched for, hence the reason for their high value. They are appreciated by some but still to be discovered by most. However, one thing is certain these hidden beauties will not remain masked for very long. The appeal that San Diego has for many people means that once little known attractions are now being discovered increasingly and their magnetising capabilities for the right people are even more potent, now than ever before.

Carlsbad Village Art and Antique Mall is a classic antique and art shop, featuring European Antiques, Gifts, Vintage Furniture and Decor, Surf Art, Collectible Pottery, Glassware, Designer Decor, Bali, Java Furniture & Art, Asian Antiques, American Antiques, California Artists 1900-1960's, Collectibles and Reproduction Furniture

The Adobe Chapel Museum dates back to 1850, when it was initially built. It is currently now operated by the Save Our Heritage Organisation

The Whaley House in the Old Town District is the oldest two-story brick building in Southern California. It used to be the first theatre in California. Built in 1865, it served multiple purposes including as a school, courthouse, a store and a home. It still has furnishings of the 19th century era.

In Cahoots located in Mission Valley, is the home of country music in San Diego. Enjoy lovely line dancing and if you have never stepped to this kind of tune, then enjoy free lessons in country dance five nights a week and in order to get your groove on!

The Park at the Park is located in Downtown San Diego. It is used to view the Padres home game during that season and for the rest of the year, is open to the public. It has various monuments of the Padres players and has a small baseball diamond and a playground. Now that is an attraction worth viewing.

Amici Park, located in Little Italy is best known for its bocce court - a well-known Italian Sport. Recipes of Italian foods are engraved on the sidewalks, on plaques and tables around the park. It is worth the visit for families and individuals.

Mission San Diego de Alcala is the oldest mission in California and is located in Mission Valley.

Mason Street Schoolhouse which dates back to 1865 was the first public school house in San Diego and it was free.
