So: you want to mention your website on Helium? That's a great idea. But remember a few tips.
1. Make sure that mention of your website can't identify you. You didn't add a link to it from your profile, did you? Oh, you did? Well, that's no problem. Just rush over to your profile and delete the link. Don't worry; I'll still be waiting here. What? No, the Helium people don't back up anything. You don't need to worry, no one will ever know.
You're back? OK. You've just removed the one live link from Helium to your website. You didn't realize that the links in the articles aren't live? Don't worry - I'm sure everyone will type your URL into the address bar of their browser and head over to your website once they've read the amazing article you've written.
2. Write an article about your website. The title should be the article's URL, just to make sure that people get the point that it's an article about your website. That way it won't matter if the links aren't live.
3. Write an article about how cool your website is. Make sure to repeat the URL throughout the article. Readers aren't that bright - be sure to explain to your readers that they need to copy the URL into the address bar of their browsers. Now sit back and wait for Helium to feature your article. That should be easy, because no one else is going to write an article using the URL of your website as a title.
If you website it really prominent enough to deserve an article, you probably don't need the extra traffic that a (non-clickable) link is going to bring. If you site is a good source of information, someone else will reference it. It's pretty easy to spot an article that's more promotional than informative. It won't get a high rating. Few people are going to read lower-rated articles. If no one reads the article, no one will copy the link into their address bar. And since the link isn't live, Googlebots won't find it, so it can't help your PageRank. So why bother? If you write good articles, people will click on your by-line, read your profile, and see your link to your website, and they may even click on the link. Sure, they'll run screaming from your shrine to Pokemon, but at least you'll finally get some traffic.
