How many times have you gathered those rods together, carefully selected your bait, re-organized your tackle box, packed up the essentials and headed off to that magical fishing spot. And how many times have you arrived only to hear "you should have been here last week!"
That's not something you're going to hear in San Diego.
In fact this region is renowned for its diversity, offering fresh and saltwater fishing opportunities. You won't be going home telling tales about the ones that got away, but you will be telling tales about the ones that didn't!

The species of fish are as diverse as the fishing methods. The region is home to Barracuda, Bay Bass, Blue Fish, Bonita, Carp, Catfish, Croakers, Halibut, Perch, Sand Bass, Spanish Mackerel and Trout and that's just naming a few. Deep sea fishing offers even more variety.

If your preference is Bass, Catfish or Trout then you can't go past Lake Dixon, Lake Miramar, Lake Morena or Lake Murray. Fishing from the shore or out in a boat both yield excellent results and makes these locations popular choices for the freshwater angler.
Prefer the taste of salt in the air, sand between your toes? Looking to catch yourself some barracuda, halibut, sea bass, shark, perch or mackerel? Then drop a line off Crystal or Ocean beach piers.
