A Rhyme to Scare Those on a Dare
I got stuck in the laundry chute,
While riding down head-first,
Mid stinky socks and underwear;
I'm not sure which was worse!
My blood was racing from my feet;
My face was surely red.
It echoed, as I hollered there;
I feared I might be dead.
At last, my playmates rescued me.
By then, I was a wreck.
They grabbed my arms and hauled me out;
I nearly broke my neck!
Appalling what a kid may try,
Once dare has laid the bait.
Thank God I learned this lesson then,
When I was only eight.
