Women who don't want relationships and prefer to be alone

At this point in my life, having a relationship is the farthest thing from my mind. It would be easy for someone to blindly theorize why this is, but all I can do is give you the facts, my facts.

I honestly and sincerely do NOT feel incomplete without a man. That is probably the main reason. I am for the most part a happy, upbeat, witty woman who has plenty going on in life right now. I certainly do not feel that this makes me a lonely, bitter woman by any means.

Have I been hurt? Oh Heavens yes! How many women can you name who haven't? I'm certainly not afraid to love again. If anything age has made me bolder and more self confident, which makes me more ready to love again...just not now

I am a 40 something women who has a grown, married son living with a family of his own. A grown daughter 2 Grandchildren (who live with me,) and a teenager. There is my extremely emotionally needy Chihuahua, Papi, who takes up a lot of my time. I am not particularly "masculine." I do not think my life less worth living alone. I have a great sense of humor, and more often than not there is a smile on my face. So why do I choose not to have a relationship right now?

I neither have the time, energy nor desire to be in a relationship. It's that simple. I have not sworn off men. I do not hate men. I simply do not want a relationship at this point. Of course there are times when the thought of male companionship is nice, but I get over it. Honestly, my life is busy and complete without a man. I feel complete and fulfilled, even without a man. Difficult as that may be for some to grasp.

According to American Demographics, single dwelling households are up. Approximately 25% of the population chooses to live alone, without partners. This includes men and women. The same source indicates that the majority of these single dwellings earn above average income. Well at least I am not alone in my choice! Some people choose to be alone and others are alone but not by choice.

Women who choose not to have relationships do not need matchmakers for friends. Really, you'll just tick us off. If you are happy being in a relationship, wonderful. I am happy being without one. One day my prince will come. Oh, wait, that is a fairytale. More realistically, one day someone with the right chemistry MAY come along. I may rethink my "I vant to be alone" stance. For right now, it works for me.
