gets enough of a response from the community, they feature it on their homepage - and that earns it even more views! The home page changes really quickly, so it's not uncommon to have the same article show up a couple of times a day.
1. Invite people on the site to be your friend - just like you "connected" on Gather.
2. Publish a link to your article (it's all self-explanatory when you click the "Add Something New" button).
3. Be sure to add tags to it - on Current, they aren't traditional tags. Each subject has its own section; when you enter a tag, you automatically get featured on that subject's homepage.
MYSPACE
If you've already got a MySpace account, put your friends to work. You don't have to add more, but the more you have, the better; you're going to be using bulletins and your blog to get your articles some traffic.
1. Post a bulletin. Use the same teaser technique you used on Gather, complete with a link to your article. Ask everyone who reads it to re-post it by making your opening line, "Please read and re-post - it means a lot to me."
2. Toss those teasers in your MySpace blog. You may be surprised at the responses you get!
3. Use the MySpace Forum to answer people's questions with links to your articles (or simply promote them there). I troll the military boards, for example, and look for people who are asking what to expect if they join the Army. They're in luck - I wrote an article with that specific title - so I post a link to it and say, "This will tell you everything you need to know. E-mail me if you have any other questions!"
DIGG AND DEL.ICO.US
Social bookmarking has benefits, too, although they aren't as great as you may expect. You'll get a little traffic, and possibly some life-long fans, but I wouldn't count on them as your sole method of bringing in the bacon.
1. You're not supposed to Digg yourself. Instead, simply add a link to your About Me: Articles page or a few links to specific articles you've written on Helium on your Digg or Del.icio.us profile.
2. Digg and del.ico.us-ize every cool article you come across on Helium. When people become your "fan" on those sites, they'll ultimately discover Helium... and you. Hey, every click helps!
IT'S NO JOKE
Take marketing seriously so that your income can seriously grow. Many people get discouraged because they're not seeing high-dollar payouts right away - but if you give everything in this article a shot (you can bookmark it so you don't forget anything), you're headed down the road to monthly payouts and a whole lot more recognition as a writer.

HTML TIPS
To create a link, simply use these brackets: <>
Inside a pair of those, type: a href=
Put the URL of your article inside quotes (if you forget the quotes, it won't work) like so: "myarticlerocks.com/read-it-pl ease"
After that set of brackets is filled, type this: ...read full story
After you've typed ...read full story, chase it with the following (inside another pair of brackets): /a
Whatever you type between those sets of brackets will be a clickable link - you can type anything you want, but "...read full story" works best when you're promoting your articles.
