What color was Jesus? If clarified, would this question actually read, "What race was Jesus?" That's pretty easy, He was Caucasian. Considering that He lived in Palestine, worked with His hands {the word "technos" indicates He was a tradesman, not necessarily a carpenter}, and probably worked outside it would be a good guess that He had a deep olive tan, dark hair {of indeterminate length as He was probably also a Nazarite}, and brown eyes.
Now that the question has been answered, I have one of my own. WHO CARES?
Jesus was of the tribe of Judah, hence he was a Jew. All twelve tribes were Caucasian, just like Abraham, Issac, and Israel. They were of Semitic lineage, but that's not a separate race. Abraham came from the land of Ur {probably northern Iraq} and many of the Caucasian peoples originated in Mesopotamia.
Again I am forced to ask, "Who Cares?" What does skin pigmentation, or any other physical attribute, have to do with who and what He was/is? Answer: NOTHING! This question is tantamount to asking whether grey, blue, or green catfish taste better. When it reaches your plate they're all the same color.
So, is it true that red cars are faster than blue cars, but green cars get the best gas mileage, and white cars have better air conditioners? How about: if you take a blue tractor and paint it green, will it run like a deer? Do these questions belong in the 'john'? Yeah, they are pretty ludicrous. Why do we even entertain such questions? Can this be anything other than trying to remake Jesus into an image we find more pleasing and acceptable? That sounds like idolatry to me, and that brings up a pretty interesting question: If we make God into an idol, so our worship is base idolatry, how can we be redeemed from that? Now that's interesting! Maybe someone should start that topic line sometime. :-)
We really need to get past this whole pigmentation problem we seem to have. Show me someone that bleeds green, blue, or orange {there are some in this area that claim that, but no proof so far} and I'd say, "Now that's different", but getting weird about skin pigment is the third most useless thing I can think of. What are the top two? No way am I going to tell, someone might actually try to make them issues again.
