Tips for getting homework done without fighting starts before a child goes to school. Surprising I know. But think about it. If a child comes from a home where the parents expect their child to complete chores, maybe work in preschool books (which came be found at almost any store and can be used as a fun activity, time for you and your child to spend time together, as a spring board teach your child something new) can be a a way to train your child to complete something that has started and is necessary.
Children only know what we teach them. If we teach our children that work is a part of life and one must do their fair share, then they'll simply complete what they are asked to do.
But, if a child has not bee trained in this manner or as many parents do not realize the importance of training such a young child in this manner, and homework is a challenge. Think of how you behave when you realize that your child has a ton of homework. Perception plays a large part in this evening tradition of completing homework. Typically every child will have a certain amount of homework and as they get older the work seems to double and even triple. What you do can be the difference in weather or not you retake each course/class for your child or if you simple guide your child through school.
Homework is a necessity but if your child seems to always have trouble your best bet may be to contact your child's teacher. Be your child's voice. No, you do not want your child excused from all assignments, maybe your child needs extra time developing a specific skill. The teacher usually can supply examples of work to show the what areas your child is experiencing difficulty in.
Maybe the teacher is assigning too much homework as evidence in how much time it takes for your child and other children in the same class to complete their homework. Remember, no child learns the same and some children can finish tons of homework. Maybe your child is just lazy and you need to take a different approach. This may be difficult to accept, we want to believe our children can do no wrong ( well maybe some of us do.) Be careful, your child still has to preform at some sort of job/profession when they get older. Or live at home until the age of ?
My message is this, you must be an informed parent. Teachers need your help, even before your child comes to school. Education is a serious issue. Many children are failing and as we all know there are many reasons. Let's not get get into that because we can only change what we teach our own children. We must be aware and ask questions. Be a partner with your child's teacher. Together you may be able to develop a way to help your child complete their assignments.
With all that was said, please raise children who can function positively, constructively and honestly to our society. Allow teacher's to teach and parents to raise.
Thanks for reading my article and make your child your "mark" on the world.
