The regulation of drug companies
Drug companies are continually developing new medications that are supposed to "help" for one illness or another.Unfortunately, the fact the these "new drugs" are approved much too quickly and have many serious and deadly side affects are not told to the American population until there is a black box label. In other words we the American people are not being given all the information necessary to to make informed decisions until it is too late.
The Food and Drug Administration is the only regulatory body over the large drug companies. This is not enough! To date there have thousands of law suits involving newly developed drugs. These drugs have not been properly tested nor have adequate time in the test market before being released into population. The FDA is so bombarded by the onset of newly developed drugs that they are giving patents to the drug companies.
These drugs that are newly tested by the drug company and then approved by the FDA are then being given to our children ,parents, grandparents , and friends. The "new drugs" are then only out for a very short period of time before there are serious and even fatal side effects. Then there is the on-slought of law suits and wrongful death class action suits that again we as the the American people pay for.
Not only that then there is the expanse of the new drugs that the average person cannot afford especially if they have no health insurance. Therefore, the average person is going untreated because the "old drugs" that are affordable are not the one that doctors are getting free form the "drug representatives" to try on their patients as well as getting a"deal" on that drug for a period timed before making the patient pay full price for it.
There needs to a new governing body to monitor the drug companies to push for extensive testing before there is another senseless death. The people of America deserve to have only the est and if this means stricter rules and regulations for the drug companies and the hold up of newly developed drugs then that is what need to be done.
