Cryptex of Time is a great game for one and all. The basic purpose of the game is to solve puzzles made of gem stones. The puzzle gets harder as you move levels. Besides every level has its own attractions as well like a bomb that blows a part of the puzzle.

The version that I used started with a screen with the option to choose between a storyline and quick play. The latter is for quickly evaluating the software. The background of the story is the Mayan era where you need to solve a cryptex puzzle at each level of the game. As you solve the puzzle you win treasures and go onto the next level. There is the provision of providing hints in the form of a woman who drops broad hints without giving away the solution. On the fun side, she also makes faces at you.

The puzzles are presented using brilliant colored gems which make the presentation pretty eerie. This also helps to draw your attention to the game and keep you riveted to it.

The game provides a lot of variety and at every level you get new puzzles and new items which ensure that the game does not get boring.

The graphics of the game are pretty fantastic and awesome. The entire game is presented in 3-dimension graphics and the effect is wonderful. The color combinations are pretty attractive and make it even more attractive. The sound effects are equally good which makes it quite pleasurable to play the game. It is easy to realize that the game caters to a lot of valuable and minute detail.

The only downside for the game is the competition. There are number of similar games that are already in the market and hence Cryptex of Time' does not get the early mover advantage. The company needs to market the game well to ensure sufficient number of people buy it.

The game is produced by Solo Developer and a trial version of the game can be downloaded from their website - http://www.solodev.eu/g_Cryptex.html . The full version is available for about $20 and is worth every cent.

Overall the game deserves a rating of 4/5.
