Today humanity has gone to such an extent in technology that hardly anybody wants to go through harshness and everybody wants to click through the channels of their lives in a comfortable manner. Yes, people have become lazy and then find ways to blame it on other things. What i am trying to tell is that the society nowadays question a lot on different styles of martial arts and how effective they are. I think that instead of asking us martial artists on how effective our martial style is you should be asking how it remained effective for thousands of years before the strike of technology. even today, if i were to walk a lonely street late in the evening i am more prone to violence than those who lived thousands of years ago. the reason being that today martial arts school have been so undermined that none of them can hardly promote the training a serious martial artist back in the days would have. Yes, karate is an effective method of self defense, because if the training it demands. Now in todays world, it has become just another sport. i ask why? how can u defend yourself if you have taken away its very backbone of hard training of the mind, body and spirit. very few true martial artists exist today. is it not the society's fault that they do not understand the true value of martial arts. today you are ready to educate yourself as a CEO, and you are ready to spend all that blood and sweat money of yours for your education to have a better life. you do not question about that investment, nor do you question if it is gonna be worth to your life. then why do you question the philosophy of martial arts that have been followed and leaded over for thousand of years. martial arts means survival not of the fittest, but of the smartest. becoming a ceo might be smart but how do you defend those life threatening moments when you are about to lose all that you have worked for, your family, your investments and your luxury. well, to put it briefly, martial arts not only protects all these wonderful desires of human race but also drives you to a more positive road, the road where your soul is united with your mind and your mind is united with your body. what more better of a feeling cxan a person get than self satisfaction just by knowing the fact that they can breathe properly. Some of the most dedicated masters of karate have written in their biography of how karate has helped in their daily lives, how they enjoyed living and walking this earth with a calm sensation. i bet, this doesnt happen to most of us. the question is not whether karate os an effective method of self defense, but the question, why arent we able to defend ourselves even after we have learnt karate. my dear society, my answer to all of you is, you have asked too many benefits from karate without giving it proper attention and proper respect it demands, and yet you still think you can defend yourself. i dont think so. try to feel karate and not just see it.try to live in karate and not just live with it. try to embrace the karate spirit and not just materialize it. finally, try to experience the karate that ancients have experienced, then you will seee for yourself that it not only defends you physically but it will also help defend your strategies for life and keep you prepared mentally all the time.
