Reflections: My beliefs

I believe that God is love, and that love produces in us the power, ability, and fortitude to accomplish anything. Accomplishments are the measuring stick that we are all judged by. When we make the choice to believe in love and express it unconditionally we open ourselves up to the Grace of God, and the Power of God. As this grace and the power is activated by the result of our belief (actions), we stand to accomplish often more than we set out to.

Love empowers, and love heals.

There are many examples throughout history that reflect the power of love to strengthen, heal, and produce necessary results. I cannot help but think of the teacher/instructor who patiently guided Helen Keller from an individual who was totally unaware, angry and scared, to a person of great integrity and awareness, providing her with insight. This insight of hers (Helen Keller) was quite often greater than the insight or vision of many who can see with their eyes.

What are the examples of love or lack of it, in our lives that prompt us to believe one way or another?

There are many denominations of churches that don't agree on doctrinal points, however, the main point and message of Jesus, besides our need to be Born Again, is that we love God, and love one another.

I believe in love.

Despite all of the controversy that we will experience, the only way to handle conflict is through love. Overcoming any conflict, whether internal or external must first begin with love. We are judged by our peers, friends and family on how well we overcome conflict. If love was not utilized in overcoming the conflict, and we feel that we have found a solution; we really have not. All that we have done was either run from the conflict, or removed it temporarily. That issue will return again. Therefore, we really have not accomplished anything. On some level, our lack of accomplishment, or lack of love will catch up to us forcing us to deal with the same issue again. It is at this time that we must assess our belief system, as well as our ability to truly accomplish things of significance.

Love will resolve conflict peacefully. God is love, and that is more than enough. If we can't agree on a point or an issue, can we agree to love? Can that be our reference point to perhaps begin again?

I believe in love because it will take to us to greater levels of being and loving in spite of our circumstances if we will truly allow it to. Love is a presence, love is a power, and love is God. That is my belief.
