President Bush's Middle East visit and forming a Jewish-Arab peace in Palestine

What is the answer to 99 of 100 questions? Money. In case you didn't know, the United States provides Israel with billions of dollars of aid each year. Lets look at it as an investment for the United States. The recent conflicts between Israel and Palestine has created an increased need for military aid from the United States, increasing our own already outrageous deficit, especially since we still have two wars to fund. This would create a facade of peace between the two that would save us billions.

Conflict between Israel and Palestine is also a religious battle between Judaism and Islam, which validates the extremists goals on both sides, strengthening terrorist influences worldwide. Our continued backing of Israel in these conflicts increases anti-American sentiment in the Muslim world, which would decrease if there were peace. Also, conflicts either get better or worse, with the latter being a huge concern to our country's security, with Iran and other countries becoming supporters of Palestine. If this conflict gets worse, nuclear weapons by the Muslim world will continue to be pursued to defend themselves against a potential U.S-Israel aggression.

A third reason that comes to mind involves the idea that a third world war is imminent, and we are setting our pieces up on the board. With China and Russia backing Iran, and with North Korea as another potential teammate, the U.S. will need as many allies as it can get, with a Israel-Palestine union being a huge boost for our foreign allied forces.

In the end, this visit by our president to the middle east, and act that has been done for decades, insures only a temporary peace, with incentives likely placed on the table for both sides to cooperate. The religious war between Judaism and Islam has raged on for thousands of years, with the U.S. backing of Israel escalating an even greater war between the ideals of the West vs. the East. Sadly, there will most likely be no end to this historical battle, until chaos takes over and destroys all that we know.
