Game Fish's Fairway Solitaire is a definite 5/5 rating. Playing Fairway Solitaire is somewhat irritating. Yes, I said irritating and I say this because it is so incredibly addictive. I had so much fun playing this game of solitaire because is unlike any other that I have ever played.
You start by imputing your name and learning a little bit about the game. You then choose a character that you want to look like. These graphics are very cartoon/real like. The graphics are quick to load and delightfully colorful. The game only starts out with simple instructions. You pretty much learn as you go. What I like about this game is that I was alerted if I make a mistake, for example if you skip a card. It will then give you a chance to fix it. You can undo a move also by using a mulligan. You receive one mulligan per game.
While you are learning, you will earn money in each of the seventy courses. You can then spend that money in the Golf Shop where you can purchase different items to help you along the way to getting through all the exciting courses. Each course offers nine holes.
The unfortunate thing about Fairway Solitaire is that you only have an hour of free time on it. This is not near enough time complete all seventy courses. One would suppose that from a marketing perspective it is awesome because if a customer wants to continue with the addictive game they will have to buy the full version.
While progressing through the games you will find yourself up against some interesting obstructions of which you have to earn your way out. For example, you may end up with a sand trap in your deck of cards and have to progress your play to the "wedge" card in order to get past the sand trap. On another game you will come up against some water, this particular gamer did not conquer the water. The game tells you exactly what you have to do in order to conquer each game. The best part to me was the long drives. This is when you keep pulling down card after card until you cannot go anymore. You will get bonus "cash" for this that you can spend in the Golf Shop.
I really loved this game and could see myself playing for hours on end. It is definitely on my list of must purchase games. I recommend Fairway Solitaire to anyone who loves Solitaire, strategy games or golf.
