Finding a good writing critique group

The best way to find the right place to get a critique as a writer.

Many people suggest that the online world is a great way to get a critique as a writer. I disagree completely. Point's of view in the onlinekine world are like keyboards, everybody has one. Still the fact remains that one is not better then the other.

I suggest a more one on one networking attack. If a local bookstore has a published writer in town, see if you can meat up with them beforehand or afterwards, to see if they will look at your work. Ask them about how they got their start. Be bold, yet respectful with your questions. At the least, you will make a friend to add to your network.

Consau;t with an english teacher at a local college. They unterstand the finer points of the words, that you are trying to convey. They can help when you are in a slump.

Keep a log of things you hear in dayily life. This will come in handy for times when you are at a loss for words.

Enter any and all contests you can. The more you write the more easy and free flowing it will become.

Keep in mind, that public comments can come off harsh.. Never take what others say as gospe. Learn from it, in an effort to be the best you can be.
