From the frozen tundra of Green Bay to sunny Miami to the fall colors of New England there has always been a threat looming in the air. A threat that given an opportunity would devastate any that stand in its way. One that with no remorse would tear down the walls of your house and make you think "why us?"
No I'm not talking about weather I speak of one of the NFL's greatest quarter backs of all time, Brett Favre! It amazes us all what has been accomplished in his time in Green Bay. So many records, so many wins, so many devastating loses but the fans they all agree that this man is a legend.
You can see his competitive fight shinning in his eyes every time hit hits the field. The disappointment in an arrant throw and the rejoice as the score is raised another 6 points. How he will congratulate a linebacker after he has squeaked through the offensive line and and sacked him in the backfield. These are some things he is well known for.
But all things must come to an end and this too is one of them. Brett is getting up there in age and maybe not so this season but if he doesn't retire this year then his age will effect his abilities somewhere down the road.
In his career he has thrown more passes then any before him. He has also thrown for more touchdowns. In fact he has the most 3 touchdown of any QB also. But with that does come the most interceptions of anyone. In perspective those are negated by the 9 pro bowl appearances, 7 divisional titles and 1 Super Bowl victory.
If he were to retire this would be the year. His stats are without question astounding boasting a 95.7 passer rating, 28 TD's against 15 interceptions. Overall throwing 356 out of 535 passes during the regular season. In fact Brett finished 6th overall this season. No one would blame him, he would be going out on a strong note.
Yes I am sure he will make to the Super Bowl this year. Though I am a New England Fan I do want Brett to finish with a victory so he can retire as Elway did. But I think this would be different for him.
Look at it this way. A legend for the Green Bay Packers finishing his career in Lambeau Field holding the Lombardi trophy in hand. What a better way for a True sportsman to end his career.
What a way to forever be the legend that is BRETT FAVRE
