There must be many unscrupulous methods I have seen people using to convert unbelievers to Christ. There is the attack method, scaring them out of hell method, the condemning method, boring them half to death method, and of course the judgment method; none of which works very well. More than not, I believe we omit the most important one of all; the love method.
It is written: "with love and kindness have I drawn thee." Yet more than not we will reach for hell, and think that will win people to Christ. Why must we say anything about Christ when we are trying to win someone to Him? Why not rather, live the life before them. Wow, there's a concept. Do you mean that I will actually have to live the life I'm trying to get other people to live? Of course, people are not willing to do anything we are not doing. If they don't see Christ in us, how will they know what it is? We are Christ's billboards, we are His advertisements. If they see our faces looking like stewed prunes why would they want that?
Jesus lived the life He talked about, He demonstrated the life of a believer, and He never judged. He sat with the ungodly influencing them from within. This is what we must do in order to be great soul winners for Christ. Talk less, and live more. We can't be the people carrying signs around spreading a message of doom. Our message is a message of hope, of love, and of peace. It is an enduring message, one we must carry in our hearts; only then will people see the love Christ has to offer.
If we don't have His love in our hearts, how do we expect them to see the love of God? We are the salt of the earth, a city on a hill, and the light of the world. However, our light has been dimmed by the cares of this life, and we are loosing precious people in the interim. We must stop pounding people over the head with Christ. God doesn't want anyone service Him out of fear, but out of love.
You want to win people to Christ? Love them as yourself.
