The big thing in today's society is that more and more people are looking for legitimate work-from-home businesses. There are a lot of scams out there. This article will help you recognize and avoid some of them. The biggest thing to remember is that if it costs YOU money to get started, it's probably a scam, except in a few rare cases, as you'll discover below.
*In-home Call Center jobs: Places such as West-at-Home (www.workathomeagent.com), LiveOps (www.liveops.com) and Alpine Access are great sources for these jobs. They are usually always hiring, and all you need is computer access, and either DSL or a 2nd phone line, so you can answer incoming calls while you are connected to the internet. They offer very flexible hours, and the pay is pretty good.
*Mystery Shopping jobs: While one can't make a full living doing Mystery Shopping jobs, I have been able to earn enough money each month to supply gas for both my vehicles, with a little left over. I also get lots of freebies, including meals. To get started as a mystery shopper, you should first head over to www.mysteryshop.org, and get signed up. This gives you access to the forums, which is where you'll find most of your leads. Just remember - do NOT pay to become a mystery shopper - the company should be paying you. www.mysteryshop.org lists only reputable mystery shop companies. The site also allows you an opportunity to become a certified mystery shopper, for a small fee. Please note that certification is NOT mandatory, but may help you get more assignments with some companies. Whether you become certified or not, is completely up to you.

Both sites, as you probably already know, is a great way to earn extra cash, and they pay within a day or two of publishing your articles. If one worked hard enough, they could make great money with these, and similar sites. It's all about how much time and effort you can put into it. You can also do an internet search to find other freelance writing opportunities. Keep in mind - if they want YOU to pay them to publish your work, it's a scam!
*Direct Sales/Network Marketing opportunities: If you are a good salesman, or even someone that just likes to talk to people, this may be a good opportunity for you. Most of these businesses, such as Avon, Arbonne, Mary Kay, Partylite, and Pampered Chef, do have an initial cost to get started, but it is possible to be
