Top comeback predictions in sports for 2008

We as people, because of our own human nature are drawn toward a comeback story. A great comeback story can inspire those who watch and make them feel better about themselves because they say hey. "If that guy, girl or team could do it why not I or us." Here are my top predictions in sports in either team or individual comebacks for 2008.

In the Baseball world, which needs a comeback more than any other sport because of the latest steroid controversy. I predict the Chicago White Sox will win the World Series in 2008. Everyone in Chicago expects the Cubs to be great again this upcoming year however it is the White Sox that won in 2005. The White Sox haven't made any blockbuster moves but I like the way the offense has been tweaked at the top of the order and should make them a better team overall. Remember this team has most of its core from that championship team and really no one is talking about them and that is when Ozzie Guillen and his crew play their best.

In Football I will put aside this year and look toward next year because The New England Patriots look unbeatable this year and only a monsoon or blizzard might slow down that outstanding offense. I predict the New Orleans Saints will win their first Super Bowl. We already know that this offense is one of the best in the league when all of their stars Brees, Bush and McAllister are all healthy. However, in the off-season do not be surprised if they do a total upgrade on defense and go after some top defensive free agents such as linebacker Lance Briggs, who could change a whole defense with his presence. A even greater move would be the possible draft of hometown hero and top college draft prospect Len Dorsey form LSU whom can swallow up the whole offensive line by himself. If they are up to the challenge of trading down in the draft for his services and making a few defensive moves they can be a strong contender for the championship.

In Golf I am glad Michele Wie has decided to stay off the mens tour. Because she will be my golf comeback of the year on the LPGA tour. No other athlete faced more criticism than Wie for her bold stance on playing with the men and now she will become the Tiger Woods of the LPGA tour. She has proved that she has real talent and now and as long as she stays committed to the woman I predict she will have a monster comeback in 2008. Lastly, on the mens tour Tiger will continue to dominate but I see Phil Mickelson giving him some fight but with no suprise there, Tiger will win
