Ab and core exercise progression

The core of the body comprises of the muscles found at the central region of the body which is divided into the four regions, namely the abdominals (abs), the obliques, the lower back and the gluteus. These areas are found in the front, side and back of the lower trunk and also the buttocks respectively. They are commonly known as core muscles because they provide major support for the body and give rise to the general posture of a person. It could be noted that a good posture reflects the good condition of these muscle areas. As such, abs and core exercise done progressively is beneficial to you in many ways.

The main function of the abs and core is to offer sufficient strength to the body so that it can to cope up with the active demands of physical activities that a person needs to carry out. Health and fitness experts advocate strengthening the body core over other muscles in the body due to the importance of their primary purpose.

In actual fact, the abs and core is the fundamental part of the body which provides the power necessary to perform most physical activities. This is a thing that most people overlook but it is one that they should know. Thus, it implies that people with strong abs and core are better able to perform physical activities because they can stabilize the body as a whole by maintaining stable equilibrium while the person is doing the task.

Research has shown that having stronger abs and core can reduce quite a number of health problems relating to posture. Basically, a body with well-trained abs and core usually displays a great posture. Also, it can also maintain the upright pose of the back over a longer period without slouching.

As mentioned, getting your body core strengthened by abs and core exercise is essential because muscles that comprises of the body core are those that is responsible for the appropriate stabilization of the entire upper and lower trunk.

These are some common reasons why abs and core exercise progression essential to your overall health:

1. Improves physical performance
Strengthening the body core with static and gradual stretching is just as useful in reducing rigidity and improves flexibility. When the flexibility of a person is improved, he will be able to perform better at his physical activities. With better performance, one is likely to be motivated and stay on with the activity. So, in the long term, this physical activity will help him stay fit.
