How to make the most of a box of baking soda

C and baking soda to equal the amount of yeast that was required for your recipe. The great thing about this, is that your dough will not have to rise before baking.

10.Reduce acids. Reduce the overall acidity in some foods by adding a pinch of Baking Soda while cooking, or if making coffee, prior to brewing. If you are doing this with vinegar, be cautious not to add too much baking soda because too much baking soda and vinegar will react and start to bubble.

Crafts

1.Play clay. Mix 1 cups of water, 2 cups of Baking Soda, and 1cup of cornstarch.

2.Water Colors. Mix 2 tbs Baking soda, 2 tbs flour, 2 tsp sugar, 1 pack Kool Aid, and 2 tbs water in a bowl. Wait for it to stop fizzing, and then paint right away.

3.Bath Fizzies. 2 tsp unsweetened lemon drink mix, 1 tsp flour, 4 tsp Baking Soda, 3-6 drops of food coloring, 4 tsp baby oil. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl, add baby oil and food coloring and roll into 1" balls. Let dry for 24 hours. Drop a few into your next bath and watch them fizz!

4.Shoe deodorizers. 1 new sock- mid calf size. 1 cup baking soda, 1 rubber band, 6" ribbon. Decorations such as makers, buttons and glue. Fill the sock with the baking soda and secure with the rubber band. Tie the ribbon around the rubber band and decorate the sock however you like it. Stick in your shoe overnight to deodorize.

5.Invisible Ink. Mix equal parts water and baking soda. Dab a paint brush or q-tip into the mix. Write your message with the invisible ink on paper. Allow to dry. Read one of two ways. Either read over a light bulb- the heat will cause the writing to turn brown- or, wipe grape juice over the piece of paper, the secret message will turn a different color.

This is just the tip of the iceberg as far as all of the things that can be done with Baking Soda. I haven't even mentioned the things that you can use it for outside of the house, or for your pets. Think of all of the money you can save buy simply buying a box of Baking Soda and educating yourself on the many uses for the product. You will find that you will not have to buy separate kitchen and bath cleaners, or special ointments for sunburn and rash. No, you can do it all with one little yellow box.
