Romance Your Sweetheart on Valentines Day
Valentines Day doesn't have to be limited to candy and flowers. In our home Valentines Day is one of many days that we set aside each year to express our love to one another. This can be done many ways and can include candy and flowers but should never be limited to only candy and flowers.
Over the years, my husband and I have celebrated Valentines Day in many ways. While I definitely enjoy getting flowers on Valentines Day or any day for that matter my husband knows that I do not necessarily want candy. Candy is something that we have on hand every day of the year so it really isn't considered a special treat.
Others might not appreciate candy because of watching their weight or trying to lose weight. Many times it is best to get a gift you know the person will love instead of giving them something that might make them feel guilty later.
Handmade Gifts:
Over the years, my husband and I have given each other gifts of love that we made. These gifts have ranged from poems and cards that we made ourselves, to a mini hot air balloon replica that my husband made for me among other more risqu' gifts we have made for each other.
Breakfast in Bed:
Serving your loved one breakfast in bed is a wonderful way in which to begin celebrating Valentines Day. Just be sure you don't have anything scheduled for awhile as you may need a little extra time for the thank yous.
Jewelry:
Most women will agree that jewelry is always a welcome gift. Imagine sitting there having a nice romantic dinner and you reach into your pocket and give your loved one a tiny box containing a piece of jewelry that you know she has been wanting. Her hands tremble as she opens the box. Then she embraces you and thanks you with a long heart felt kiss.
A Heartfelt Confessions of Love:
One of the most romantic moments a couple can have together is a time of expressing our love to one another both with our words and with our eyes. Look into each other's eyes blocking out everything else. Just the two of you expressing to one another how deep our love truly is.
I love it when my husband takes me in his arms and tells me how important I am to him. When he takes the time to truly express his feeling for me verbally. This is not easy for a man to do therefore it is an ultimate gift of love when a man takes the time to do this.
Flowers and Candy:
Flowers and candy are nice, but they most certainly are not the ultimate gift or the only way in which to celebrate Valentines Day. Put a little creativity into your Valentines Day gift and I am sure the recipient will appreciate it.
