joy on the faces of local residents when our convoys pull up; I have seen kids being kids and doing things that would melt the most frigid heart.

If you only knew what life was like for some of those people before we arrived, you would not be so quick to say that American Soldiers are dying in vain. Making a positive difference in the lives of the Iraqi people is one of the most worthwhile causes I can imagine.

For most of us, it's worth giving our lives for. Yes, that's right - we would all willingly lay down our lives to make someone else's worth living.

We would gladly give our lives for each other, and we would voluntarily give our lives for YOU - even those of you who refuse to support the troops, those of you who have spat upon veterans, and those of you who hate us and the military establishment with every fiber of your souls. Who do you think will fight the wolf at the door, should he ever come? I will. My brothers and sisters in arms will fight alongside me, and we are willing to die so that you can continue to be free.

I would pay with my life if yours was threatened. I took an oath when I joined this great and mighty Army; I swore that I would support and defend the constitution of the United States and serve the American people - even the ones who think that my brothers and sisters are dying in vain right now.

It's a dishonorable thing you're doing if you're thinking that Soldiers are dying in vain.
