You know how sometimes you get a DVD that just sucks, but it was in the 2.99 bin at blockbuster, and you thought to yourself, "this could be fun" but it turns out that the movie is a terrible waste of time unless maybe you get lucky and get to laugh at how bad it was? Well I think that is how I acquired this particular little "gem"* in my collection. This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Right up there with "Music and Lyrics". Terrible, F-minus, and I'm being generous.
First things first, the acting is terrible, the only halfway believable performance was from Ludacris. The special effects were not good, or to be precise, they were bad. And the story was really white trash, despite a diverse cast of characters. Secondly the story is lame, it's stupid let's face it, the story is stupid. I mean from the overuse of the word "Brah" to the idea that being a really rad driver will gain you acceptance into some type of cool gang, is pretty stupid.
Oh and I guess while we're tearing this flick apart, the title is stupid. You know it is, the first thing you thought even if you were a huge fan of the first one was probably, "awesome, too bad that title kinda sucks, though". I mean, if you're gonna use numbers instead of letters or words try to be classy, like "se7en" or "ninja turtles III". Other titles for 2 fast could have been "2oom 2oom: now our cars are WICKED fast!"
Anyway, content notwithstanding, this movie was no cinematic wonder. At times it seemed like a terrible terrible music video. Kind of like that movie "Dominoe". Anyhow, I will say this: the one thing that was almost not terrible about this movie was it did a marvelous job of wasting one hundred seven minutes of my life. I didn't need that time anyway.
Not that it was intended to be. -2 out of 10.
