Pugs are considered one of the most fun-loving and curious of all the dog breeds. They make great house pets and are good additions to any size family, wither single or with children, they can be your best friend and adapt almost anywhere. However things that maybe the majority of first time pet owners do not know if considering buying a pug for a pet and opening up your home to these furry little smooched up gremlins! It's a huge commitment that must be considered as a factor when deciding on bringing them home. Yes, pugs are adorable, and have a unique sense of humor. The pig-like snorting and their pug faces, make them hard to resist their charms! Pugs are Stubborn and will like children get into things if unattended. They have an unbelievably curious nature that can sometime get them into trouble. Pugs motto is "Pugnacious". Pugs have trouble breathing at times if they are too overweight, or if overheated. (So should not be overexposed to the sun or out in the humidity during the summer days.) Pugs do not do well in the summertime, and is advised to keep them in a cool place and take them out in the evenings when it's much cooler than in the daytime. They have of course their charming short pug snouts; much different from the average dog, which if overheated makes it hard for them to breathe properly. Pugs can be a great companion….. But only if you are truly committed to the idea and have the time to take care of them. The cute pug wrinkles on their faces that make them so well known, have to be cleaned sometimes on a daily basis in order to ensure that they do not get any skin infections or access dirt piled in the wrinkles. In all, pugs are wonderful pets if you have the ability to open not only your home (which they will take over by the way) but your life as well. Pugs are not like Lassie, they won't save you from a burning fire, but they will love you unconditionally. So it's only fair that you go know as much as possible about the breed. Some other types of dogs are less maintenance and less work and for some people that might be the way to go, but if you have the abiltity to love a pug, you will know what all the fuss is about.
