Miniclip offers more than 300 free online video games, from the no-brainers that may take a few minutes to master, to the sublimely difficult that may take hours to complete the first level. A vast majority of Miniclip games boast excellent graphics (some realistic, most stylized), original music, and play instructions. Plus, returning gamers will find regular weekly additions to the stockpile.
Founded in 2001 by Robert Small, a British university graduate, Miniclip began with a few topical games centered on political figures. Since then, it has grown into one of the world's largest online gaming web sites, hosting more than 43 million gamers (as of January 2008).

On the Miniclip home page, beneath the seasonal graphic, you will find a toolbar containing text links to popular genre categories. These usually include "Action," "Sports," "Shoot Em Up," perhaps a seasonal category like "Christmas Games," and a link for more categories. On the right side of this same toolbar are text areas: One becomes a drop down list of all the games on the site, and the other is a site-wide search engine, in case you're not sure where to find your favorite game.
Below the toolbar, the busy screen is split into two large columns of graphics. The left two-thirds of the screen comprise the main navigation area, while the remaining third, on the right, shows secondary items.
The main section (left) changes, depending on where you are in the site. On the main page, it shows the three latest games, each with a short animated preview, plus six other "hot" (presumably popular) games. A banner link to one of the genre categories is directly under the previews. Beneath the banner, visitors will see nine smaller sections, each for a specific genre category showing two graphic links and four text links to the games themselves.
If you're in a specific genre page, you will see the featured game, plus two other "hot" games of that genre. Below the features are the next fifteen most popular games, each with a small graphic link, a text link, and a short blurb about the object of the game. Remaining games in the genre are then listed with graphic and text links.
The secondary section (right) will always show the same data from top to bottom, no matter what site page you're on, as follows: One advertisement window, a graphic link to the Miniclip Games Store, another graphic link to a featured genre, the current top ten games, the two newest and two hottest games, the latest
