Will the Chicago Cubs ever win the World Series?

Okay for once I will put away all the curse talk and my allegiance to the White Sox and really talk honestly about the Cubs. I have lived around Chicago sports most of my life and here is my opinion about whether the Cubs will ever win the world series.

Yes they might win this century but who knows how soon. They have upgraded the past two seasons with new manager and a new attitude for winning but there are never guarantees. In all honesty the Cubs players just seem like they are stressed with the weight of predecessors opportunities in the post season. The toughest managerial job has got to be the Cubs job because you are battling history not just the other 30 teams. If the Cubs do win Lou Pinnela should run for President because everyone would listen to a manager who can erase a hundred years of disappointment.

Now more than ever the Cub fan wagon seems to be buckling at all the seems. Everyone is expecting more from the previous year of being in the playoffs. However I must remind the optimists they were arguably the worst division in baseball last year and they were swept by the Arizona Diamondbacks. So all you cub fans don't get hyped yet they still have a long way to go before you can call them potential world series champions.

I will say that at least cub management seems to be trying to figure it out by spending millions on popular free agents like Sorriano and Fukodome they are trying to make the cubs more attractable besides trying to maximize the seat capacity in Wrigley Field.

I do admire the loyalty for the optimists, I must say keep your positive ways and I am sure the baseball gods will eventually remember the Cubs. As a Southsider I still welcome and love to see a Chicago World Series and we as Southsiders will just have to wait as well until that day comes. I am eagerly waiting for the Cubs to come to US Cellular field when a championship is on the line instead of bragging rights of inter-league play. As for now I am sure I will be hearing from numerous cub fans bragging about their recent success but really talk to me when they are champions and not just runners up in a beauty contest.

Good luck to all you Cub fans and if any are feeling like jumping ship we always welcome you to a team that has won a championship within this century.
