Scientific evidence of a worldwide flood

Many geologic aruguments towards a worldwide "biblical" flood are reworded, misunderstood factual geologic evidence.

Fossils are found all over the world, but if one looks closely, or reads a first year geology text book they will find that many of the same fossils are found on different continents becuase when the organism was living the two land masses were connected. The movement of plates, or plate techtonics moves earths plates and thus seperates and combines continents.

The cause of the extinction of the dinosaurs has been debated and is still uncertain but the leading cause of extinction is a meteor striking the earth near the mainland of mexico. The event is called the K-T boundary or the cretaceous-tertiary boundary. This marks the time of the world wide extinction. In the rock record there are many types of dinosaur fossils found around the time of the K-T boundary all around the world. The evidence for a meteor striking the earth is an ash layer in the rock record at the KT boundary that gets progressively thinner as you move away from the impact point in mexico. The ash layer can be traced into colorado and even farther north. A worldwide flood did not kill the dinosaurs.

Fossils from different "ages" are found together but that is becuase the organisms were living together. Fossils are grouped in an age based on the oldest and youngest rock units they are found in. If a fossil is found in an older or younger rock unit then the boundarys of the fosslis "age" is changed. Some fossils can be found for the enitre fossil record and others are found only once or twice. There will be overlap of some fossils. The first fossils of shelled organisms are about 2.5 billion years old, you will not find a fossil that lived and became extinct 2.4 billion years ago with a fossil deposited 2 million years ago in the same rock unit. You may find a fossil that went extinct 2.3456 billion years ago with a fossil that went extinct 2.3454 billion years ago. That amount of geologic time is almost nothing.
