Night of Million Billion Zombies is a promising game though a few bugs hold it back. You start off as a guy armed with a pistol and a tire iron wading through the hordes of zombies that will come after you. Your goal is to run through the town, avoiding zombies or killing them to ultimately make it to the exit spot to make it to the next level. The game is still in the pre-release beta stage so there are a few bugs that still have time to be worked out
Graphics 2/5 As I had mentioned the game is dark, it's a zombie game and backgrounds should be dark but being unable to determine what is going on in the game is unacceptable. The character models for the game look promising from the opening page but once the game starts the character just looks like a blip shooting a smaller blip. After messing with the game's and my monitor's options I was still unable to get the game into any working form. The graphics appear like they would have a fun quirk to them if they can somehow bring light to the game.
Sound 4/5 I really liked the game's sound and music, it seemed to fit with the theme quite well. The music score sounded like something that would be found in a Tim Burton movie a quick paced and happy little romp. The zombies made familiar groans and the weapon effects matched well also.
Game play 3/5 I base this score on what this game could be if the graphics are fixed. The premise is simple run to the end, waste a few zombies and that what makes the game fun is its simplicity. The controls are simple with the WASD keys to move you and the mouse button to fire one of your weapons. Running around killing zombies is always fun in my book and when I'm not having to struggle to maintain an inventory screen, ammo supply, and so on I'm an even happier camper.
Creativity and Innovation 3/5 Though the running through the streets killing bad guys theme isn't new the quirky characters and setting makes this a fun time waster. The full game is to contain more playable characters and other bells and whistles giving the game a fuller package.
Overall 1/5 or 3/5 (depending on if the bugs are fixed) The game defiantly has potential, if the bugs are fixed this game could well be worth a purchase. The fact that its hard to see what is going on, check out the game's media page to see what I mean, makes this game rank a lot lower than what it defiantly could become. If the darkness issue is fixed I would defiantly say give this game a shot to see what you think, but if not well NOMBZ is just more wasted disk space.
