How to fight pregnancy fatigue

The most effective way to avoid fatigue during pregnancy is to start an exercise program. This may sound ironic but exercise helps to fight pregnancy fatigue and re-energize the body. One should take not that that exercise improves the muscle condition of the pregnant woman and increase their ability to carry out any daily activity like walking or cooking without fatigue. This is especially important as the weight of the pregnant woman increases with time and more strain is placed on her.

As most of us known, fatigued muscles produce lesser force. So, to complete a task like stairs-climbing or snow-shoveling, more muscle cells must be employed to back up the tired muscles. As a result, the fatigued muscles become less effective and less efficient, causing leg cramps or sore muscles. Employing more muscle cells also puts more stress on the pregnant woman. Exercise will ease these sore muscles and also enable the pregnant woman to fight against increasing tension by conditioning her muscles.

The explanation for why exercise reduces pregnancy fatigue is mainly due to the increase in oxygen and glycogen supplied to the cells. Muscle contraction requires glycogen; a complex carbohydrate built up by the body which is then stored muscles and liver. The supply of glycogen in the muscles determines and limits the period of activity. Exercise uses up the glycogen store in the muscles, leading to tiredness. Oxygen is needed to break down the carbohydrate and other side products to produce energy.

Yet, rapidly depleted stores of glycogen and oxygen due to exercise is replenished in greater amount than what was required previously because the body has realized the need for more energy supply. With the body in a better position to produce more energy, a pregnant woman is able to carry out any activities, including delivery, in a more effortless manner

Some muscles are contracting when one is standing or sitting. Such seemingly comfortable postures can tense up certain muscles excessively and cause fatigue. The lower back muscles especially can be worn out easily by the constant exertion of keeping the upper body erect when a pregnant woman sit or stand for several hours.

With exercise, a pregnant woman will be able to reduce the fatigue and aches caused by sitting or standing for a long time. It is because the muscle will relax and contract during exercise. Any incorrect posture can also corrected with exercise.

Not only is it important to keep the pregnant woman's life active
