Protect yourself: The best sunscreen on the market

Here's what helped me out a lot while yachting.

I broke it down into 3 parts for the kind of information you need.
I hope it helps you out.

P1) The dangers of skin cancer-
Did you know that skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States? Anyone can get it, but it is most common in people that spend a lot of time in the sun, have light hair/skin/eyes, and are over age 50. As I've noticed, most people that yacht are in their late forties. So those that do go out on the water are more likely to get skin cancer if not protected properly.

P2) Tips on finding the best sunscreen for yachting-
A sweat and water proof sunblock is excellent for the elements of yachting, and a moisturizing sunblock would be great for dry skin, especially if you get a salty spray on your skin from the ocean. There are many sunblocks out there. Some of them work well, but come with health hazards. Some lead to irritation and break outs, which is compared to the others that lead to cancer, allergies, reproductive toxicity, and concerns for the ingredients in the products.

P3) Best sunscreen on the market-
(From my own personal research in the past I found that the following 3 worked the best.)

#1 Water/sweat proof-

Badger SPF 30 ($14):
has been known to protect, have minimal health hazards, and is water/sweat resistant which is great for the sweat making heat and water spray that you get from being on your beautiful yacht.

#2 Moisturizing-

Elta Block Sunblock and Moisturizer Pump 32 SPF ($14):
is great if moisture is what you need for your skin while protecting it. It keeps your skin smooth and protected from the harsh rays of the sun.

#3 Sensitive-

Aveeno Sunblock Lotion, Face, continuous protection, SPF 30 ($10):
is the best for those of you that need protection for sensitive or rough skin. It's gentle and does its job of protecting from painful sunburns.

In conclusion, if you ever consider other brands, make sure the SPF is 15+ so that you can enjoy riding the waves and relaxing without worrying about your skin or health.
