Choosing the suitable board length is not only influenced by your height but also by your weight.
There are several guidelines referring to the board size, flexibility and sidecut that you should have in mind before renting your snowboard.
- For a person of average built the board length should reach somewhere between the chin and the nose and have medium flexibility.
- People with lighter body frames, as well as children, need shorter and more flexible boards with shallow, gradual sidecut.
- Heavier people should use longer and stiffer, less flexible boards with deeper sidecut.
- If you decide to ride Free Style than choose a shorter, more flexible board with gradual sidecut for better maneuverability.
Free Style riding is generally suggested as starting snowboarding style for beginners as it can be mastered relatively easy, providing even the most inexperienced snowboarders with pleasurable experience.
- If you opt for Free Ride or Free Curve riding style choose longer, stiffer board with deeper sidecut.
Remember that those are just general rules and consult skilled personal at snowboard rental or at the resort about which board is the best for the type of slops, snow and weather
