Are you interested in asking someone on a date, or to a dance, but you want to do something special that will be remembered? Here are some cheap and easy ideas for putting a little creativity in the date asking process. Just add your name, your date's name and the date information and leave on your date's doorstep.

Creative Date Invite #1: Butter You Up. Leave a stick of butter on your potential date's doorstep with their name. Ring the doorbell and run. They will be confused, so come back half an hour later and leave a package of popcorn with a note that says, "I thought I'd better butter you up before I pop the question. Will to go on a date with me?"

Creative Date Invite #2: Relish the Thought. Laminate a paper with your question on it and slip it inside a bottle of pickle relish. You could say something like, "I relish the thought of going to the dance with you." Another option is to write the question on the outside of the bottle and put a laminate card with your name inside.

Creative Date Invite #3: Good Match. Buy a box of matches and write your name and the name of your date on the outside. Inside, slip a note that says, "We'd be a good match!"

Creative Date Invite #4: Are you Puzzled? Buy an easy puzzle such as 100 pieces, or a kids puzzle, put it together on a flat, portable surface. Once done, flip the puzzle over and write your question or date information on the back. Take the puzzle apart and put it back in the box. Your date will have to put the puzzle together to figure out who is asking him or her out.

Creative Date Invite #5: Scavenger Hunt. Put together a scavenger hunt for your date with the first clue given to him or her by a mutual friend. The hunt can lead to you, or each clue can also contain a clue to who is asking him or her out. A variation of this is to hide Easter eggs if it is a dance near Easter, or if it is Spring. You could also hide puzzle pieces in Easter eggs, with the final puzzle revealing a question and your name.

Creative Date Invite #6: Christmas Gift. For a winter dance, buy a small gift for your date. Include your question inside the gift, wrap and leave on your date's doorstep.

Creative Date Invite #7: Ding Dong. Leaving a Hostess Ding Dong on your future date's doorstep with a note saying, "Don't be a Ding Dong, go to the dance with me" or "I'd be a Ding Dong not to ask a cutie pie like you."

Creative Date Invite #8: In a Pickle. Buy a jar of pickles, hide your name on a laminated card inside, and put a new label on the jar that reads, "I'll be in a pickle if you say no. Will you go out with me Friday?"

Creative Date Invite #9: Date Date. Dried dates can make for many fun puns and creative date invitations. Try, "I've given you many dates, how about giving me one?" or "I'm a better date than this!"
