In today's world looks matter and first impressions count; while there's nothing wrong with growing old gracefully nobody wants to look older than they really are but if you don't want to opt for plastic surgery what can you do to roll back the years?
Of course there are non-invasive treatments that can rejuvenate the skin but they can be expensive and require several sessions to have any effect. Microdermabrasion can even be done yourself in the comfort and privacy of your own home though results aren't as successful as when the practice is carried out in surgeries.
There are, however, much simpler and cheaper ways of looking younger no matter what your age. The first is to protect your skin. If you smoke give up nothing ages the skin like smoking. Then drink plenty of water every day this flushes put toxins making your skin look healthier and fresher. Don't over-tan; sunbeds are bad news and have a dramatic aging effect on the skin. Moisturize daily using a product with a good sun protection factor. There are plenty of good instant or gradual tan cosmetic products on the market, you don't need to burn your skin to achieve a healthy color. Cleanse well and make sure you remove all traces of make up before bed.
Still on the subject of skin, eat a healthy balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to make sure you get the vitamins and minerals needed for a good complexion. A good diet will also make you feel more healthy in general enhancing vitality and boosting energy levels, making you ready for anything.
Wear clothes that don't age you. There's no need to go over the top and wear exactly what the kids are wearing but take notice of what's in the stores and look at what other people are wearing too. What looks old and dated, what looks stylish and flattering? Don't be afraid to ask your friends for advice, if you can't hear it from them you may as well give up.
A good haircut will help you look younger too; stay away from "old lady" salons and find somewhere modern and stylish. Ask the advice of the stylist, they are trained to help people choose the right style for their face shape and can also advise on coloring too.
Too much make up ages anyone, even teens so experiment with colors and shades but find products that aren't too heavy. Look at style magazines to see what the latest trends are for the season and find ways to make them suit you. Speak to the advisers at your beauty counter and ask them to demonstrate some products.
Take up a new sport or physical activity like dancing or cycling to kick start your life. Regular exercise will improve your general health and you will find you sleep better which in turn generates its own rewards.
Finally remember that attitude has a big part to play in looking younger. Be positive and open-minded. Consider change and embrace it when it comes along. Most of all SMILE nothing ages a face more than a frown!
