Biodegradable seedling pots-
Making a biodegradable newspaper pot for starting seeds is a great way to recycle and it makes for easily raised seedlings. Sometimes transplanting seedlings is difficult and the root systems often become damaged. Also, gathering enough small pots for planting your seedlings can be expensive and burdensome. A great solution for this is using an easy origami box fold to create a biodegradable seedling pot. Anyone can easily turn a piece of newspaper into a box that you fill with soil and begin growing you seeds. I found this creative earth friendly craft idea at http://www.geocities.com/newsp aperpots/

Reusable grocery bags from old plastic bags-
You can make your own reusable sturdy grocery bags from the old plastic bags the stores give you. In our area these are not recyclable and we have many lying around that we would hate to throw out. Crocheting these together to make creative and reusable shopping bags is a great idea! All you do is cut the bags in to strips and crochet them together. You can see some nice photos of this project at: http://users.frii.com/sos/Bag/ MarketBag.html
Whether you are trying to use items found in nature for crafts or if you are just looking for ways to reuse/ recycle in your crafting endeavors you are crafting in an earth friendly way and that is great!
