Blue Square Premier side Ebbsfleet United have become the first club to sell a controlling interest to MyFootballClub' (MFC) and so 'original' supporters of the Kent based outfit should soon be well placed to begin resolving this question .

However, I'd venture to suggest that on the information available to us at the moment the answer appears on balance to be' yes' at this early stage.

Fans of the Fleet' have already proven themselves adaptable to change having presumably already accepted the demise of the club's historic name Gravesend & Northfleet' a change made way before the MYC takeover in November 2007.

Two months on from the cash injection and Ebbsfleet have shot up the table from 9th (at the time of MFC's intervention) to 8th as I type this article in the first week of the New Year.

Well it's a start.

My liking for the scheme comes mainly in an admiration for the way MFC have progressed their unique and innovative idea. Never at any time have they appeared bullish. Instead they merely put their proposal out there in the market place and waited for a willing club to bite.

Every club in the land will be living under differing situations. Some are making millions, some are just about breaking even whilst many more are struggling under ever mounting debts.

Linked to their economic situation some clubs will be under achieving whilst some will be over achieving. There'll be those chasing promotion whilst there may even be the odd one frightened by the financial problems such a promotion would bring.

Somewhere hidden amongst all that mix MFC knew there would be at least one club whose ambitions and financial situation made them a perfect match for this novel marriage. All they did was sit and wait for that partner to arrive. Ebbsfleet's directors duly came along and obviously liked the sound of what MFC had to offer and vice versa.

So far so good. Now the real fun begins and we can all take an interest in how this joint venture pans out. How far will the influence of the large number of 35 investors reach? They are all entitled to a vote on certain day to day decisions. From my own limited knowledge of hard headed football folk such a quorum could make for some pretty interesting situations.

Then there's the knock on effect of a relatively small football club suddenly gaining a large secondary following over night. Fans have been known to latch onto a club for life for much less.

I've not invested any money yet I'm watching their results with a keen interest.
