Call-in-sick dos and don'ts

Calling in sick today? Have you really thought it through before you do it? There are several things to consider when calling in sick. Are you really sick? We have all called in sick and we were really not sick. That is okay as long as you don't make a habit in doing so.

Of coarse if you are really sick you have nothing to worry about. There are those jobs that require a doctor's note no matter what when you call in sick which is redundant because not all illness requires a visit to the doctor. People who call in sick and really are sick do not have that guilty conscious hanging over them for a week. If you really are sick and need to call into work there is a proper way to do it.Don't wait you are suppose to be there to call in sick. It does not help the place of business if they can not get a replacement last minute if needed. If no one is at the place of business leave a message and state that you will call them back around lunch time to give an update. It is important to keep your job informed so it will give them an idea weather or not you will be coming in the next day.

Whatever you do do not go the job sick to tell them you can't come in. It defeats one of the purposes of staying home. We don't want to get other employees sick.

We know that people call in sick sometimes because they flat out do not feel like going to work. Everyone wakes up at some point and just needs that day to get life straight. we all have it. You really should not call in sick. If you have vacation and a nice boss they will approve a vacation day. For the people that have no other option you should always just try telling thee truth atleast once to see if it works. If not you need to really have your ducks in a row. First of all having a spouse call in for you is really not appropriate unless you really are sick. If you are going to have the nerve enough to call out sick when you are not then you need to have the nerve to do it yourself. You need to come up with a good enough excuse that will disappear in within the next 24hours. If you call in sounding like you have bronchitis everyone knows that does cure over night. Do not get caught or you will be in trouble or on the hit list for a while. Leave the town or stay home. Do not be seen getting your nails done while the boss is at lunch across the street.

In reality we all know that you should not call in sick unless you really are. The one time you call in sick and you are not sick, you may jinx yourself and get ill.
