Finding the best jobs for your personality type

Matching your career to your personality has so many advantages. Its advantageous to you, as you will enjoy your job and continue to succeed in whatever you endeavor to do. And it's also an advantage to your employer because a person who enjoys their job brings positive energy and enthusiasm to the workplace.

Are you unsure of what type of career you are looking for? It's highly understandable if you're still in school, who truly knows what is going to be a good decision unless you've been planning your career for a long time?

Maybe you're already in current employment but you're finding it's not for you, it may not be fulfilling and worst of all, not enjoyable. Comparing your personality to job choices just may lead you down the career track that suits you.

Now, in order to try and find the right career for you, you'll need to sit down and have a good hard look at yourself. Answer all the following questions honestly, analyzing your good points and the not so good. Honesty is the key to matching you to the right career to ensure maximum fulfillment in your career and your future.

Sit down with pen and paper and make a list of what you know about yourself.

PERSONALITY

What are my interests? What are my skills? Am I easy to get along with? Can I get along with other people? Do I like people? Do I like to be told what to do? Am I easygoing and take things as they come? Do I like to be in charge and am a leader? Am I self motivated to get things done? Do you like challenges? Do you like to keep busy, or rather sit in front of the television? Do I have good discussion skills? Am I sympathetic and caring to others needs? Do I like organizing things? Do I like talking to people when they address me? Am I a good listener? Do I get excited easily, love new things?

This is only some of the questions you can ask yourself. Remember to be honest and this will give you a good guide as to a career you would enjoy being surrounded by people or leading people, or whether you work better alone.

Determining your leadership skills will also show a level to your ambition. Being able to listen yet communicate well at the same time are two qualities of a good leader.

Enjoying challenges, being self motivated and keeping busy determines whether you like a career is fast paced or one where you sit at a desk all day.
