Having visited Morocco a few times now. I thought I would give you and insight to the types of food they like to consume.
This is my first time of posting on here so please be gentle.
Moroccains like there foods spicy, hotish but not boring. Tagines,Kofta,Helwa (cakes). They eat most things but they dont touch pork or anything to do with Pork.
Tagines are cooked in big earthware dishes on bbq, cooker tops. They consist of meat, potatoes, carrots, onions,o lives and lots of different spices.(Turmeric,Saffron,Papri ka,Salt,Pepper,Basil,Coriander )
Most cafe's do tagines they are normally lined up and you can choose which you want.
Tagines are made with Lamb,Chicken,Beef and Fish. Eaten with Bread (homemade).
Kofta is minced beef but cooked different ways normally all with spices. Meatballs are the most common way in a delicious tomato sauce.
Also another famous dish is couscous which is like a very fine rice usually served with lamb and vegetables on a Friday as its a special day. Everyone gets together to eat on Fridays and this dish does feed a lot.It is very filling so enjoy.
